Stud Finder: Metal Detection — Privacy Policy

Stud Finder: Metal Detection ("the App") is developed by Mobile Card Games & Travel Apps LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and how your privacy is protected.

1. Data We Collect

Stud Finder works entirely on your device. We operate no server, require no account, and nothing you scan, photograph, or save is uploaded to us.

• Magnetometer readings: The App reads your iPhone's built-in magnetic-field sensor to detect metal behind a wall. These readings are used live, in memory, to drive the gauge and alerts. They are not stored and never leave your device.
• Wall map photos and pins: If you create a wall map, the photo you take (or choose) and the markers you place are saved in the App's own storage on your device.
• Settings: Preferences such as measurement units, stud spacing, and wall type are stored locally on your device.
• Usage counters: A count of successful finds and scan sessions is kept locally to decide when to show a review request or upgrade screen. The find count is also mirrored to your own iCloud account (see iCloud below).
• Purchase information: Pro purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store; the App never sees your payment card details.

The App does not collect your name, email address, contacts, location, or health data. It contains no ads and no analytics SDK, and it does not request the iOS tracking (ATT) permission.

2. Camera and Photos

The App requests two media permissions, and only when you actively ask for the feature that needs them:

• Camera: Requested when you tap "Take Photo" to photograph a wall for a wall map. The photo is written to the App's local storage on your device and is never uploaded.
• Add to Photo Library: Requested when you save an annotated wall-map image back to your photo library. The App can only add images; it cannot read your photo library.
• Choosing an existing photo uses Apple's system photo picker, which hands the App only the single image you pick — the App never receives access to the rest of your library.

You can deny or revoke either permission at any time in iOS Settings. Scanning works fully without them; only wall-map photos are affected.

3. Sensors

The magnetometer, accelerometer, and gyroscope are read through Apple's Core Motion framework, which requires no permission prompt for magnetometer access. The App uses them solely to compute the magnetic-field deviation shown on screen. No motion or sensor data is recorded to a file, transmitted, or shared.

4. iCloud

The App mirrors one number — your lifetime count of successful finds — to Apple's iCloud key-value store so it survives a reinstall or a new device. This lives in your iCloud account under Apple's control; we cannot read it. No photos, wall maps, scan data, or settings are synced. Signing out of iCloud simply stops the mirroring.

5. Third-Party Data Sharing

The App shares data with exactly one third party:

• RevenueCat (revenuecat.com/privacy): Manages Pro purchases and restores. RevenueCat receives purchase and transaction data from Apple along with a random, anonymous app-user ID — never your name, email, photos, or scan data. The App also passes along Apple's AdServices attribution token, which tells us only whether an install came from an Apple Search Ads campaign; it does not identify you.

Purchases themselves are handled directly by Apple's App Store. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone else.

6. Data Storage and Retention

• On your device: Wall-map photos, pins, preferences, and usage counters are stored in the App's local storage and kept until you delete them or uninstall the App.
• On our servers: None. We do not operate servers.
• iCloud: Only the find counter described above, in your own iCloud account.
• Deletion: Deleting an individual wall map removes its photo and pins immediately. Uninstalling the App removes all of its local data.

7. Data Security

Your scans, photos, and wall maps never leave your device, so there is no copy of them anywhere to secure. The App's only network communication is with Apple (for purchases) and RevenueCat, over encrypted HTTPS.

8. Your Rights

You can:

• Deny or revoke camera and photo-library permission at any time in iOS Settings.
• Delete any wall map, and its photo, from within the App.
• Remove all App data by uninstalling the App.

Because we do not collect or store your personal data on any server, there is no server-side data for us to access, correct, or delete on request — everything is on your device and under your control. If you have questions, email us at v5cqpsj4e3u4@opayq.com.

9. Safety Notice

Stud Finder reports what your iPhone's magnetic sensor actually measures. It is a guide, not a certified detection instrument, and it cannot guarantee that a wall is free of pipes, wiring, or other hazards. Always confirm with a dedicated detector and appropriate professional judgment before drilling or cutting.

10. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

11. Terms of Use

Use of the App is governed by Apple's standard End User License Agreement, available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page.
