Decibel Meter & Dosimeter — Privacy Policy

Decibel Meter & Dosimeter ("the App") is developed by Mobile Card Games & Travel Apps LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and how your privacy is protected.

1. Data We Collect

The App collects:

• Live microphone audio (with your permission) — never recorded: The App reads the live microphone signal purely to compute the current sound level in decibels. The audio is processed in memory on your device and is never recorded, stored, or uploaded — no audio file is ever created. Measurement can continue in the background while a monitoring session runs, but it is still live level computation only.
• Usage and crash data: App interaction events (such as viewing the paywall or completing a purchase) and crash reports, collected via Google Firebase. Decibel readings and audio are not included in these events.
• Advertising data: When ads are shown, Google AdMob receives standard ad-request data from your device (see Third-Party Data Sharing).
• Calibration settings and measurement history: Stored locally on your device.
• Purchase information: Transaction records for the Pro subscription, managed by Apple and RevenueCat.

The App does not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, or photos.

2. How We Use Your Data

• Microphone audio is used solely to calculate and display sound levels and dosimeter exposure on your screen.
• Analytics events help us understand which features are used and whether purchases succeed, so we can improve the App.
• Crash reports help us find and fix bugs.
• Ad requests fund the free version of the App; the Pro subscription removes ads.

3. Third-Party Data Sharing

The App works with these third parties:

• Google AdMob (Google privacy policy): Serves banner and interstitial ads in the free version. When an ad is requested, Google receives standard device and ad-context information and may collect data as described in its privacy policy. The App does not use Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt and does not collect the advertising identifier (IDFA); ad performance is attributed through Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork instead of cross-app tracking.
• Google Firebase (Google privacy policy): Firebase Analytics records usage and session data (app opens, session duration, and feature-usage events), device information, and a randomly generated app-instance identifier — using the variant that excludes the advertising identifier — and Firebase Crashlytics receives crash and diagnostic reports. No audio or decibel readings are sent.
• RevenueCat (revenuecat.com): Manages subscription purchases. RevenueCat receives purchase/transaction tokens and a random anonymous app-user ID — never your name or email. Payments are processed by Apple; we never see your payment card details.

Your microphone audio is never shared with anyone — it never exists as stored data in the first place.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any other third parties.

4. Data Storage and Retention

• On your device: Calibration settings and your measurement/dosimeter history are stored locally until you delete them or uninstall the App.
• Audio: Never stored, anywhere, for any duration — sound levels are computed from the live signal and the audio is immediately discarded.
• On third-party servers: Analytics events, crash reports, and ad-request data are retained by Google under its own policies. We do not operate servers of our own.

5. Data Security

All data sent to Google and RevenueCat travels over encrypted HTTPS connections. The most sensitive input the App touches — your microphone — is processed entirely in memory on your device and never transmitted.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Deny or revoke microphone permission at any time in iOS Settings (the App cannot measure sound without it, but no audio is ever kept either way).
• Delete your local measurement history and settings by uninstalling the App.
• Opt out of personalized advertising through your iOS Settings (Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising, and Google's ad settings).
• Remove ads entirely by subscribing to Pro.

Depending on where you live, privacy laws such as the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA) give you rights over your personal data, including the rights to know, access, correct, and delete it. Because we do not hold your data on servers we operate, there is typically nothing for us to access or delete on request — deleting the App deletes your data. Where the App does process data in transit, or a third-party service described above collects data, you may contact us at the email below to exercise your rights, and we will respond as required by applicable law.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. In some regions, including the European Union, a higher minimum age applies to consent for data processing; the same statement applies there — we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the applicable age.

8. Data Breach Notification

In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting user data on any system we operate, we will notify affected users as required by applicable law.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page.
