AI Resume Tailor — Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 10, 2026
AI Resume Tailor ("the App") is developed by Mobile Card Games & Travel Apps LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and how your privacy is protected.
1. Data We Collect
AI Resume Tailor collects the following data that you provide directly through your actions in the App:
- Your resume: The resume document or text you upload or paste. Resumes typically contain personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, location, and links (e.g. LinkedIn or a personal website), along with your work history.
- Job descriptions: The job posting text or web pages you paste into the App or share to it from Safari and other apps via the App's share extension.
- Purchase and credit information: Transaction records for credit-pack purchases, managed by Apple and RevenueCat, plus your remaining credit balance.
- Local usage counts: Simple counters kept by the App (e.g. how many resumes you have processed). These stay in your device's secure storage and are never transmitted to us or anyone else.
The App does not require an account, does not collect advertising identifiers, contains no analytics SDKs that report anywhere, serves no ads, and does not request the iOS App Tracking Transparency permission because it does not track you. Notifications are local only — scheduled on your device to tell you when a rewrite is finished; no push notification service is used.
2. Your Resume Data
Your resume is sensitive personal information, so here is exactly how it is handled:
- What is sent: When you parse, analyze, or tailor a resume, the full text of your resume (including any personal details it contains) and the target job description are sent to OpenAI's AI model to produce the analysis or rewritten resume.
- How it is sent: Over an encrypted HTTPS connection through AIProxy (aiproxy.com), a secure API relay. Per OpenAI's API data usage policies, data sent through the API is not used to train their models.
- Not stored on our servers: We do not operate any server that stores your resume. Your resume and job description exist in transit only during the request to OpenAI.
- Stored on your device: Your master resume, resume history, and rewritten resumes are stored on your device — rewritten resumes and your credit balance in the device Keychain (Apple's encrypted secure storage), which syncs via iCloud Keychain to your other devices under your Apple ID. We cannot access your iCloud Keychain.
3. How We Use Your Data
- Parsing: An uploaded resume document is sent to the AI to be read into structured fields you can edit.
- Analysis and tailoring: Your resume and the job description are compared and rewritten by the AI, returning keyword coverage, a list of changes, and the tailored resume.
- Share extension: Text or a job-post URL you share from another app is handed to the App and stored locally as your target job description. It is only sent to OpenAI when you run an analysis or rewrite against it.
- Completion alerts: A local notification (if you allow notifications) tells you when a rewrite finishes while the App is in the background.
4. Third-Party Data Sharing
Your data is shared only with the services needed to run the App:
- OpenAI (openai.com): Receives your resume text and job description text for parsing, analysis, and rewriting, via the AIProxy relay as described above.
- Apple and RevenueCat (revenuecat.com): Purchases are processed by Apple; the App never sees your payment card details. RevenueCat receives purchase transaction tokens and a random anonymous app-user ID — never your name, email, or resume content.
We do not sell, rent, or share your resume or any other data with anyone else.
Abuse prevention: every AI request the App sends also includes your device's Apple identifier-for-vendor and an Apple DeviceCheck token. These are used solely to prevent abuse and rate-limit AI requests; they are not linked to your name or identity and are not used for advertising or tracking.
5. Data Storage and Retention
- On your device: Your master resume and settings are stored in the App's local storage; your resume history is kept as a file in the App's documents; your credit balance, usage counts, and rewritten resumes are stored in the device Keychain, shared securely with the App's share extension.
- In your iCloud: Keychain items (credits, rewritten resumes) sync via iCloud Keychain, and a backup of your resume history can be written to the App's storage in your iCloud Drive — both tied to your Apple ID and inaccessible to us.
- On our servers: None. We operate no server that stores your data.
- Deletion: Delete resumes and history in the App at any time; uninstalling the App removes its local data (iCloud Keychain entries can persist across reinstalls under your Apple ID until replaced or removed).
6. Data Security
All network requests are made over encrypted HTTPS connections. AI requests are routed through AIProxy so that API keys are protected and never embedded directly in the App. Sensitive local data (credits, rewritten resumes) is stored in the iOS Keychain, Apple's encrypted secure storage.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Delete your master resume, history, and rewritten resumes in the App at any time, or remove all App data by uninstalling the App.
- Decline notification permission — the App works fully without it; you simply won't get a completion alert.
- Choose what you upload: the App only ever processes resume and job text you explicitly provide.
Depending on where you live, privacy laws such as the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA) give you rights over your personal data, including the rights to know, access, correct, and delete it. Because we do not hold your data on servers we operate, there is typically nothing for us to access or delete on request — deleting the App deletes your data. Where the App does process data in transit, or a third-party service described above collects data, you may contact us at the email below to exercise your rights, and we will respond as required by applicable law.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. In some regions, including the European Union, a higher minimum age applies to consent for data processing; the same statement applies there — we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the applicable age.
9. Data Breach Notification
In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting user data on any system we operate, we will notify affected users as required by applicable law.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page.
