Address Finder: Where Am I? — Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 10, 2026
Address Finder: Where Am I? ("the App") is developed by Mobile Card Games & Travel Apps LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and how your privacy is protected.
1. Data We Collect
Address Finder collects the following data, all of it under your control:
- Your location: used to show your position, look up your address, and (if you opt in) power arrival/departure alerts and Visit History. See the Location section for full details.
- Saved places (bookmarks): the name, coordinates, address, notes, geofence settings, and an optional photo you attach to each place you choose to save.
- Visit History (opt-in, off by default): if you turn on this Pro feature, the App logs places you visit (coordinates, arrival/departure times, address) on your device.
- Purchase information: Pro purchases are processed by Apple; we never see your payment card details.
- Analytics and crash data: anonymous, device-level app-usage and crash diagnostics via Firebase (see Third-Party Data Sharing).
The App does not collect your name, email address, or contacts, and it does not request the iOS tracking (ATT) permission.
2. Location
Location is the heart of this App, so here is exactly how each mode works:
- While using the App: your position is used to show you on the map and look up your current address. Address lookup (reverse geocoding) uses Apple's CLGeocoder service, processed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy — no third-party geocoding service receives your coordinates.
- Always (background) permission — only for two opt-in features: (1) arrival/departure alerts, which use iOS geofencing to notify you when you arrive at or leave a place you saved, and (2) Visit History, which is off by default and logs visits only after you explicitly enable it. If you don't use these features, the App does not need or use background location. Alerts are delivered as local notifications generated on your device.
- Siri and Shortcuts: asking for your address via Siri triggers a single one-shot location reading.
- Opening directions: if you tap to open a saved place in Apple Maps or Google Maps, that place's coordinates are handed to the maps app you chose. This happens only when you tap.
Your coordinates are never sent to any server we operate — we have none. The advertising and analytics SDKs in the App do not receive your location in any code path.
You can revoke or downgrade location permission at any time in iOS Settings, and turn Visit History off (or clear it) in the App.
3. Third-Party Data Sharing
The App uses these third-party services:
- Google Firebase (Google privacy policy): Firebase Analytics collects usage and session data (app opens, session duration, and feature-usage events), device information, and a randomly generated app-instance identifier, and Firebase Crashlytics collects crash reports (device model, OS version, crash traces). Neither receives your location, bookmarks, or Visit History.
- Google AdMob (Google privacy policy): shows ads to non-Pro users. Ad requests are handled by Google and include standard device information. The App does not request the iOS tracking permission, so no cross-app tracking identifier is provided to advertisers by us.
- RevenueCat (revenuecat.com): manages Pro purchases. RevenueCat receives purchase/transaction tokens from Apple and a random, anonymous app-user ID — never your name, email, or location.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any other third parties. Your saved places and Visit History are never shared with anyone.
4. iCloud Sync
Your bookmarks and Visit History sync across your devices through your own private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit), tied to your Apple ID. This is Apple infrastructure, not a server we control — we cannot read, access, or recover this data. If you attach a photo to a bookmark, it syncs the same way. Your paired Apple Watch receives bookmark data directly from your iPhone via Apple's Watch connectivity, not over the internet.
5. Widget and Extensions
The App includes a home-screen widget, an iMessage extension, a share extension, and a Watch app. These share data with the main App only through a private on-device container (App Group) — for example, your last-known address is stored there so the widget can display it. Nothing in this container leaves your device except through the iCloud sync described above. The iMessage extension keeps its own separate local list of saved places on your device, and shares a location in a conversation only when you choose to send it.
6. Data Storage and Retention
- On your device: bookmarks, Visit History (if enabled), settings, and the widget's last-known address are stored locally.
- In your iCloud: bookmarks and Visit History, in your private database only.
- On our servers: nothing — we operate no servers.
- Deletion: delete individual bookmarks or Visit History entries in the App at any time; deletions sync to your iCloud copy. Uninstalling the App removes all local data.
7. Data Security
iCloud sync is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple. All SDK traffic (Firebase, AdMob, RevenueCat) uses encrypted HTTPS connections. There is no developer server that could expose your data.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Deny, downgrade (Always to While Using), or revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings.
- Keep Visit History off (it is off by default), or turn it off and clear it at any time.
- Delete any bookmark, photo, or history entry in the App.
- Remove all local data by uninstalling the App, and remove synced data via iCloud settings.
Depending on where you live, privacy laws such as the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA) give you rights over your personal data, including the rights to know, access, correct, and delete it. Because we do not hold your data on servers we operate, there is typically nothing for us to access or delete on request — deleting the App deletes your data. Where the App does process data in transit, or a third-party service described above collects data, you may contact us at the email below to exercise your rights, and we will respond as required by applicable law.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. In some regions, including the European Union, a higher minimum age applies to consent for data processing; the same statement applies there — we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the applicable age.
10. Data Breach Notification
In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting user data on any system we operate, we will notify affected users as required by applicable law.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page.
